At Greenplanet, Nina focuses on clean energy projects and spearheads strategic planning, project design, funding, and implementation. She actively works on location with clients to build relationships and foster a culture of trust and collaboration. As project ideas evolve, Nina ensures that our client’s needs are not just met but exceeded.

Nina brings a wealth of experience to her role at Greenplanet as a professional engineer with corporate, non-profit, and public sector experience focused on Canada’s energy system. She has over 20 years of experience working in the energy sector to advance pragmatic solutions to reduce emissions while growing the economy. Most recently, Nina was Director of Climate and Energy Policy for the Federal Minister of Environment, responsible for policy and program design and implementation. Prior to that, she was the Associate Regional Director for Alberta at the Pembina Institute, working with a wide range of stakeholders to reduce emissions and improve environmental performance in the fossil fuel sector. Before joining the Pembina Institute, Nina worked in Alberta’s oil and gas sector. Her work included project management and project engineering roles, team leadership, strategic planning, and regulatory approval work. She also spent one year working with a large international development agency in Sub-Saharan Africa, connecting rural farmers to output markets.

Nina has a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from McGill University and Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal. She is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario and is bilingual in English and French.
